The Viltrox EPIC series is a line of full-frame 1.33x anamorphic cine primes, and this set pairs the EPIC 35mm, 50mm and 75mm, each with a constant T2.0 aperture. A constant 1.33x squeeze keeps distortion consistent from near to far, while the lenses render oval bokeh highlights and a soft, retro color palette with pleasing skin tones. Viltrox describes focus breathing as essentially zero, and all three lenses share the same 0.8-pitch gear positions and center of gravity, so lens swaps on a rigged camera need little readjustment. With a front end that fits a 95mm matte box and a fast T2.0 stop for low light and shallow depth of field, the set delivers a widescreen anamorphic look on full-frame cinema cameras.
