The RED Komodo-X puts a 6K Super 35 global shutter sensor in a compact 1.19 kg body. Whip pans, car rigs and LED walls come out with no rolling-shutter skew, and it records 6K up to 80 fps and 4K up to 120 fps.
It shoots REDCODE RAW or Apple ProRes to CFexpress Type B, runs off a built-in Micro V-Lock plate, and has 12G-SDI, timecode, genlock and locking audio on the body. Small enough for a gimbal, solid enough for a full A-camera build.
The Komodo-X is the second-generation Komodo. The sensor is the same size but redesigned for cleaner shadows and better colour, and it runs twice the frame rates of the original. Footage drops straight into RED's IPP2 colour pipeline, so it cuts cleanly with other RED cameras.
The body is built for working sets: a locking lens mount with full lens communication (PL glass through RED's adapter), a 2.9" touchscreen on top, support for the RED Touch 7" monitor, and a 5-pin audio input with phantom power. Wi-Fi and USB-C let you run the camera from a phone or tablet with RED Control.
It's a strong pick for gimbal, drone and vehicle work, VFX plates, and any shoot with fast motion or LED lighting where a global shutter matters.
